books to reprogram your subconscious

There are numerous books on the market which talk about the subconscious, but these are a few that I have read and believe to be the best books to reprogram your subconscious mind. A few are classics, and sometimes those are the best if you can stand the old fashioned writing. ?

Why do you need to reprogram your subconscious?

It is critical to be able to reprogram your subconscious mind if you want to manifest new things into your life. You can’t have a new reality until you become someone else, and that means putting in new programs and overriding any self-limiting ones that exist.

These programs may be unconscious, as they were conditioned into our psyche when we were children. I know for most of my life I thought that I just was who I was and didn’t realize that I was behaving and believing how I was taught. That person wasn’t really me.

These books can help you become aware of the programming and show you techniques to change it. Becoming aware is key, and this happens on the journey to achieving your dreams.

Have fun during the process and always be kind to yourself. You have the power to determine who you say “I am” to. ?

#1- The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy

books to reprogram your subconscious

This book is #1 on all the subconscious book lists I’ve seen thus far. There is a reason for this!! If you haven’t read this book yet, I highly recommend you check it out.

Joseph Murphy was an Irish Jesuit who came to the US in his 20’s to explore other religious ideas after experiencing a healing resulting from prayer. He was a pharmacist for a few years, and then achieved a PhD in psychology. He became ordained into the Church of Science in California, and started a large New Thought church in Los Angeles. He then became interested in mysticism and the Masonic order, after which he wrote multiple books on the subconscious mind, Christianity, attracting wealth, and much more.

This book is still popular today because of the inherent truths that anyone reading it can relate to. Murphy relays stories of how people used their subconscious mind to heal themselves, overcome debilitating fears, and create success. He explains how to use belief and visualization to impress the subconscious and achieve amazing results. You can even use the subconscious to get answers to questions you may have.

I hope you check this book out and try the tools with an open mind!

#2- Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza

I love me some Joe Dispenza! Any YouTubes featuring him, or upcoming retreats, research, anything, I’m all over it. Hes done some amazing things and I love that hes focusing on documenting and conducting actual research studies to show what physical changes his meditations and visualizations are causing in people. Its very hard to publish peer-reviewed research in this area, so I commend him for working on this!

Studying previous research and conducting his own, Dispenza is convinced that we can change our brain and body by our thoughts. Joe Dispenza has a degree in biochemistry with an emphasis in Neuroscience, a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, including education in neurology, neuroscience, brain function, cellular biology, and memory formation. For me, this more than establishes his qualifications for making predictions and theories regarding the science behind the results of his work.

Joe Dispenza famously healed himself after a debilitating accident which left him with a crushed spine, using meditation, visualization, and changing his self-talk.

In this book he shows how our habitual thinking about the past is creating our present and will determine our futures. He explains the biochemical results of living on autopilot, and ways to rewire the brain and attain the “supernatural” in our lives.

You will learn tools to gain harmony between your brain and heart, how to quiet the conscious mind in order to reprogram the subconscious, and manifest the change you desire in your life. Read this book!

#3- The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton

books to reprogram your subconscious

I love reading and watching Bruce Lipton. What a super smart man who became so spiritual! He was a stem cell biologist who taught at medical schools and performed ground breaking research involving stem cells and epigenetics. Some time during his research and realizing that cells are receiving signals to direct their function, he rejected atheism and was convinced there was a higher power.

Lipton demonstrated in his research on epigenetics that our DNA does not determine our biology, but that DNA is influenced by signals from outside itself. He contends that our thoughts and beliefs send signals to our cells, as well as all other matter. Therefore, our thoughts can change our biology.

You will learn about the science involving how what we believe influences us, and that our emotions directly influence our subconscious mind. He shows how to combat negative emotions and generate the ones that will allow you to manifest the change you desire.

I don’t know about you, but I love learning the science behind manifestation and the subconscious mind! I know the actual scientific community isn’t ready to call it “science” yet, but these discoveries all make sense to me. If certain scientists and doctors are willing to set their “respected” careers aside and be rejected by their colleagues because they are convinced there is profound truth here, then I’m ready to listen!

#4- Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

This book is all about reprogramming the subconscious mind. Being a classic, many people have heard of and read this amazing book. Its one of those books that reveals more every time you read it.

Napoleon Hill knew so many successful people in his day, and he interviewed something like 500 multimillionaires to write this book. He also was an advisor to President Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1933 to 1936, which is super cool. Very wise man, and you can easily derive this from his writing.

There is a chapter in Think and Grow Rich called Auto-suggestion, which Hill claims to be the medium in which we influence the subconscious mind. Auto-suggestion is basically affirmations and self-talk that reflects the new programming we want to instill in the subconscious. Faith is also important in changing the subconscious, and he explains that even faith can be cultivated by auto-suggestion. Positive emotions are explained to be another direct way to influence your subconscious and override negative programming.

Many successful people have read and practiced this book, achieving amazing results. Its changed my life, and auto-suggestion is the main way I change my beliefs. Check it out!

#5- Psycho-cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz

books to reprogram your subconscious

This influential book was written by Maxwell Maltz in the early 1900’s. Maltz had a doctorate in medicine and was a plastic surgeon. He noticed during his years practicing surgery, many of his patient’s feelings of unworthiness and negative self-image didn’t change after their cosmetic surgery. This peaked his curiosity to explore why people have certain images of themselves and how they can change those.

Psycho-cybernetics is the term Maxell Maltz uses for the subconscious. Cybernetics is a machine that allows for efficiency, and psycho-cybernetics is the mental machine that is functioning unconsciously, allowing our conscious mind to think while other processes go on in the background.

Maltz will explain that we are all programmed by our past, people, and events in our lives, and this programming runs unconsciously, determining how we experience life. How we view ourselves cannot be changed on the outside, such as cosmetic surgery cannot change a person’s self-image.

You will learn how to use rational thinking, visualization, habits, and positivity to change your self-image. Also, ways to navigate negative emotions and actually remove the adverse conditioning from your subconscious mind.

This book is revolutionary. I received so much value and listened to this one on audio multiple times. I’m confident you will receive massive value as well!

#6- What to Say When You Talk to Yourself by Shad Helmstetter

Helmstetter is like a self development expert, and has written over 20 books, been on Oprah, as well as many other TV stations and other audio programs. He is a huge advocate for affirmations and self-talk, and believes that you can read all the self-help books in the world and if you can’t master the way you talk to yourself, none of those books will help.

Self-talk, affirmations, auto-suggestions, these are all a common theme in reprogramming the subconscious mind. Shad Helmstetter contends that this is the best way to change the programming that occurred when we were children, but he also believes we are programmed every single day by what we watch, listen to, and the people we hang around.

Its not just important to pay attention to what you say to yourself, but pay attention to what you are exposing yourself to every day. What are you putting into your mind? Also, how are you influencing others? Would people that you want to emulate even want to be around you? Things to think about.

Helmstetter explains the difference between external and internal motivation. External motivation is temporary because we will switch back to our old programming. We need to change the internal programming first before we can hope to successfully accomplish our goals. He will also show you how to set goals that are easy to achieve.
